Summer Craft Taster Event:
This is your opportunity to try FOUR amazing techniques in one day, delivered by some of the finest local artists and tutors.
You will immerse yourself in a full day, packed with creativity, engaging in four one-hour long taster workshops. The day includes all tuition, materials, plenty of refreshments and a delicious Afternoon Tea box supplied by Acorn Catering. (Served at lunchtime)
Your four amazing tutors and activities on this Summertime event are:
Charlotte from Charlotte Keating Artist
Beautiful Mini Sandpiper Collage
Charlotte will help you create your own mini sandpiper on linen canvas board using a combination of acrylic paint and carefully selected ephemera from vintage books, maps, dress patterns or old letters. You are welcome to use the materials provided or bring some small collage elements which are meaningful to you or the person you gift it to. We’ll also part conceal a word within the body to bring an element of personal sentimentality to the piece. These wee birdies are the perfect coastal creation for propping on a sideboard or displaying in a box frame.
Becci from Black Cat Glass Designs:
Stunning Beach-themed Fused Glass
Becci will show you how to make a beautiful beach hut scene, with the sea gently lapping onto a sandy beach. You will be using sheet glass and frit (crushed glass). No experience necessary as you will be guided through how to cut glass before going on to make your piece.
Jen from Sew Forest of Dean:
Striking Fabric Beach Hut Scene.
Jen will show you how to patchwork your background before adding an appliqué beach hut and embellishments. These will be mounted onto linen and made into greetings cards or why not frame yours as a wonderful textile art piece? Suitable for all levels of experience including beginners.
And then mosaic with me, Rachel:
A Coastal-Inspired Outdoor Mosaic.
I will show you the tips and tricks, using the direct method, to create a stunning mini mosaic for outdoor display, inspired by the colours and textures of the beach. You can choose from glass tiles, sea glass, mirror and shells to bring your little seascape to life. Other colours, not just beachy ones, available too.
