‘None of us is alone in this world; each of us is a vital piece of the great mosaic of humanity as a whole’

Rachel’s mosaics are the perfect medium to connect a whole community, especially if delivered as a whole-school art project. Mosaic allows people of all ages to contribute, with children from as young as four easily and safely adding their bit, so the project becomes inclusive throughout the school. It also allows participation to extend to the staff too and the teachers, assistants, lunchtime supervisors, governors and even the school vicar can add their piece, allowing everyone to feel involved, valued and part of the project. It is not gender specific and it does not require previous experience. Furthermore, mosaic can be made for the indoors, outdoors, walls or floors. It can represent the schools logo, Christian values or areas of the curriculum, adding a permanent colourful feature, that won’t fade over time.

Rachel has worked with many primary schools throughout Gloucestershire and beyond, inspiring creativity through the medium of mosaic. For a list of the schools she’s previously worked in. Click here.

Her mosaic projects help pupils to learn new skills, including new art techniques, problem solving, expanding vocabulary, plus help bring pupils together to work as a team. Above all though, Rachel’s mosaic projects are fun.

Mosaic projects can be delivered on a one-off basis or as a series of sessions. The content can link to other areas of the curriculum, such as history and geography, plus making reference to other artists and craftspeople.

Rachel provides all equipment and materials, works closely with staff to ensure smooth delivery and ensures disruption is kept to a minimum.
